March's Members Appreciation - Justine Walsh

In March, we celebrate our wonderful register member Justine Walsh, a meditation teacher in the London.  In her business, Justine provides one-to-one sessions, as well as group classes online and in her local community.  As a post-natal doula and sleep coach, she also offers meditation to the families she works with.

We asked Justine to share some information about her business, her teachings and her own meditation experience, so that you can get to know her better.

Here is what Justine told us about her own meditation experience…

“I began meditating in my 20’s during yoga classes and retreats and when I meditated, I experienced calm and quiet for a little while. I then spent years figuring out how to meditate on a regular basis and I felt I needed something realistic and sustainable - ultimately sitting cross legged on the floor didn’t work for me! In 2015, I began to study the Vedic practice (aka TM) and I immediately connected with the practice. Vedic meditation is mantra-based in which you practice twice daily for 20 minutes. The consistency of this practice changed my life, as I was able to connect to this quiet experience/existence on an ongoing basis. A lifetime of anxiety lessened within two weeks of practice. It was profound and exciting – a whole new beginning.”

Justine trained with BSoM to become an externally accredited meditation teacher because…

“After creating a regular practice of my own, I wanted to share the benefits of meditation with others through teaching. I found BSoM to be down to earth and very approachable.”

What she loved about the training was…

"I loved all of it! My favourite parts were the breathing practices. Connecting to my breath was something I had always found challenging, but this was enlightening and freeing. I also found my teacher supportive, kind and knowledgeable".

About Justine’s business…

I work mostly teaching meditation on a one-to-one basis. I also teach group classes online and in my local community. As a post-natal doula and sleep coach, I offer meditation to the families I work with. It’s something anyone can benefit from”.

Justine’s favourite aspect of teaching is…

My favourite aspect of teaching is being able to support and witness the positive impact meditation has on people’s lives. It really is transformative and facilitating this is extremely satisfying”.
