February's Member Appreciation - Alexandra Francis of 'Turquoise in Nature'

In February, we celebrate our wonderful register member Alexandra Francis, a meditaton teacher in the seaside town of Clevedon, North Somerset. Alexandra’s business Turquoise in Nature provides mindfulness classes, retreats and treatments to help you relax and find inner peace.

We asked Alexandra to share some information about her business, her teachings and her own meditation experience, so that you can get to know her better.

Here is what Alex told us about her own meditation experience…

“After training in reiki and taking time to just be, I enjoyed the silent space within me.  I’ve been meditating for 10 years now and really enjoy gratitude and sound meditations”.

Alex trained with BSoM to become an externally accredited meditation teacher because…

“I wanted a professional, accredited course that offered training in various different types of meditation. It came down to my gut feeling that BSoM was the course for me, I was right. The course

gave me the confidence and perfect grounding to offer mindfulness to people of all ages and backgrounds…

Clients in my salon, many with depression and anxiety. I wanted to find a natural way of helping them. Medicine has its place but isn’t always necessary. Also children in school with issues, I wanted a

way to help them feel calm and find a peaceful way to navigate their young lives”.

What she loved about the training was…

"The OM chanting for the first time was such a profound moment, I absolutely loved it.  Meeting likeminded people on the course was empowering and learning that meditating in a group can be really powerful and up lifting".

About Alex’s  business ‘Turquoise in Natue’…

“I set up my salon in 2009 and moved into more holistic treatments where I found clients needed help for depression and anxiety. I set up my mindfulness business in 2015 immediately after my training with BSoM.

My motivation is helping to improve my clients wellbeing and teaching meditation to children in primary school to help them navigate difficulties in their lives. Seeing the positive effects it has on all ages fuels my motivation and love for my job”

Alex works with both adults and children and also brings meditation into the workplace. She offers 121 meditation sessions, retreats, meditation classes and also Reiki with sound meditation.

In addition to teaching meditation, she also offers Holistic treatments for ladies, including reiki, LaStone, massage, facials and a good listening ear.

Alex’s favourite aspect of teaching is…

“The joy of allowing people to feel relaxed, let go and find inner peace. The effects it has on children is so positive it fills my heart”.
